Destiny 2 - Upcoming HotFix Detailed

Bungie has announced that they will release an update for Destiny 2 this week that addresses some of the concerns players have had since the last update. Here are the details:

  • The Prestige Leviathan Raid will be brought back down to Power 300, and its rewards will drop down to match the new Power Level. All players will regain access to the Prestige Raid.
  • Trials of The Nine will only require Curse of Osiris when it features a Curse of Osiris map. For all other weeks, it will be available to all players.
  • The Prestige Nightfall will remain a pinnacle activity, at the new 330 Power cap.
  • Normal Nightfall will only require Curse of Osiris when it features a Curse of Osiris map. For all other weeks it will be available to all players.
  • Time limited events – Iron Banner, Faction Rally, and The Dawning, will be made available to all players.

This is a good start, but a lot more needs to change if they want to fix Destiny 2.

Bungie to fix Destiny 2's Platinum trophy

With the release of Destiny 2's most recent piece of DLC, players found that the platinum trophy for the game was now only available to those who purchased the expansion. Luckily, Bungie has stated that they are working on a solution.

Here is their full statement:

"We are aware that there are some Destiny 2 Trophies and Achievements that have become unavailable to players who have not purchased Curse of Osiris. We are committed to fixing this issue, and are currently investigating a solution. Please stay tuned for more updates on this topic as progress is made."

I wonder if they intend to fix all the other problems with Destiny 2?

Destiny 2: Curse of Osiris Review Roundup

I'll be sure to add more as we get them in

A DLC that as is, is up there with House of Wolves as the worst Destiny add-on to date. It's a stop-gap solution meant to spackle some of the game's cracks, and the real coat of paint hasn't quite come yet. Destiny 2 is still a fantastic shooter at heart, Bungie just hasn't figured out how to actually incorporate all of the Frankensteined MMO parts.

My only small concern with the story is that Curse of Osiris feels very isolated from everything else that has happened so far in Destiny.

Enigmatic, visually stunning, but so far a bit lacking in substance.

As you work your way toward the new level cap of 25 and power level of 330-335 (depending on mods), there’s a decent amount of new content to experience. Sure, Mercury’s small and the strikes are a letdown, but between the world building, new gear, and gameplay features such as new Crucible maps and Raid Lairs, there’s a fair amount of fun to be had in Curse of Osiris.

Bungie Discusses The State Of Destiny 2

After a significant outcry from fans of Destiny 2, Bungie has finally decided to comment on the state of the game, and what they are going to do to fix it in the future. Their plans are extensive, so I will leave those details at the source link for those that want to check them out, and put the foreword from Bungie below.

With Destiny 2’s console and PC launches behind us, we want to take some time to talk with you about Destiny 2 – specifically where it’s at today, and where it’s going. Our team has been reading feedback and working on updates to improve the game. We’ve also been reading some tough criticism about our lack of communication, and we agree we need to be more open.

Going forward, Destiny 2’s post-launch game systems, features, and updates are being designed specifically to focus on and support players who want Destiny to be their hobby – the game they return to, and a game where friendships are made. We want Destiny to be a game that fits into your life, providing you with reasons to log in and play with your friends, clans, and families. We want Destiny to be a world you want to be a part of.

A month ago, we published a list of improvements on the blog. Today, we’re going to revisit that list and update its status, and share some of the work the team is readying for December, January, and beyond.

We know it’s frustrating when there isn’t enough of a dialog with the development team. You have our commitment that we’re going to do a better job going forward.
