Despite the small amount of chaos in the gaming community for the past few days, I hope everyone had a good week! But even if you didn’t, the weekend is sure to be much better! Especially considering that today is not just another ordinary Friday, but one where three highly anticipated games are launching! But instead of focusing on today, I’d like to look towards the future. And by that, I mean next week. Welcome to Lgndary Thoughts!
For those that don’t know, the Paris Games Week is set to begin next week, with Sony’s press conference being held on Monday. Normally, I would try and temper my exceptions. But this year I am having some trouble keeping my excitement in check, as Sony has been hyping up their conference for a few weeks now. I know that isn’t much to go on, but they didn’t do the same for the Tokyo Games Show, which I found to be very disappointing.
So with that in mind, I thought it would be fun to talk about what we’d like to see from next week’s show. Here are the top 3 announcements I would love for Sony to make in Paris!
God of War - Despite being announced over a year ago, I feel like we haven’t seen, or or heard much about the next big Playstation exclusive. So I think we are overdue for some real God of War information. A live gameplay demo with every aspect of the game intact, a deeper explanation of what to expect with the title, and a release date are all fairly reasonable requests.
Sucker Punch - Infamous: Second Son originally launched in March of 2014, with it being one of the PS4’s very first exclusives after launch. Since then, we haven’t heard a peep out of Sucker Punch and I think it’s time that changed. I would love to see another Infamous title from them, but I wouldn’t be against a new IP either. I will say, however, that I don’t really see an announcement happening. There haven’t been any rumblings about a potential Sucker Punch announcement, but let’s hope we’re surprised!
Dreams - Where is this game!? Dreams was literally the second or third PS4 game ever announced, and we still know almost nothing about it! But considering the fact that Media Molecule is based in Europe, I think a re-reveal, and release date announcement are very appropriate for next week. That is also the main reason why I think this has a reasonable chance of happening. But we’ll have to wait a few more days to know for sure!
What are you hoping to see at The Paris Show next week? Getting hyped? Or are you expecting Sony’s biggest announcements to happen at the Playstation Experience in December? Be sure to let me know in the comments what you think. Now please excuse me while I go play more Odyssey!
